Background
Mathieu is French, raised in Barcelona. He has also lived across other countries like the US, Malaysia, and Thailand, which shaped a way of working that does not rely on context staying the same.
He has spent most of his career making complex systems work: operations, IT, infrastructure, teams. Four years running the back office of a tech company taught him that most problems are not technical. They are friction that nobody bothered to remove.
In 2024, he turned that lens on communication. The problem was obvious once you saw it: people spending hours a day on messages that should not require them at all. Twintual started from there.
He has been building it since, handling everything from architecture to product calls. The stack is real, the team is small, and the bias is always toward shipping.
Role at Twintual
CTO and co-founder. The role covers more ground than the title suggests.
On the technical side: architecture decisions, stack choices, infrastructure, AI pipelines, mobile. Making sure what gets built can actually scale and that engineering debt does not quietly accumulate into a ceiling. On the product side: roadmap ownership, feature prioritization, and staying close enough to user feedback that nothing gets filtered into abstraction before it reaches a decision.
At this stage, product and engineering are not separate functions, they are the same conversation. Day to day that means unblocking the team, reviewing builds, making calls on tradeoffs, and keeping the gap between what we say we are building and what ships as small as possible. Early stage. Hands on. No layers.
